Policka town and municipality in Svitavy district. The first written mention of the town comes from 1200 originally.
The Royal dowry town was founded in 1265 by the King Premysl Ottokar II. Length of stone fortification of 14 -15th century formed with 19 round bastions and the main barrier around the entire of the town 1220 meters. Policka ramparts has been one of the best well-preserved urban fortifications in the Czech Republic. The Church tower was a birthplace of the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu.
