place with historical importance, fairground, agriculture
The Almonte Fair Grounds, in a bucolic setting beside the Mississippi River, boasts two structures that exemplify the agricultural life of our forefathers. The covered grandstand, built in 1868, is the oldest remaining example of its kind in Canada. The agricultural hall, still in use, was built in 1869.
