Cold War 1947-1991, bunker
Former Cold War bunker at CFS Carp built as part of a national programme to provide survivable government services in case of nuclear attack. This was the largest of the so called Diefenbunkers and was designed to house most of the Canadian Government from nearby Ottawa within its 4 story structure.
Today the bunker is a Cold War museum open to the public.
