Site of an old lead and copper smelter that was operated by Bingham Consolidated from 1871 to about 1958. Processing of lead-zinc ores continued until 1971. The EPA has cleaned up the smelting slag, tailings and contaminated soils, and continues to monitor groundwater contamination.
