Based in Dettingen an der Erms, Germany, ElringKlinger is a midsized supplier of components to the automotive industry. The Leamington plant was acquired in 2000 following the bankruptcy of auto supplier Versatech. The 125,000 sq. ft.facility produces cylinder head and specialty gaskets, cover modules and shielding parts for power train and exhaust systems.
Constructed as two separate buildings in 1990, the buildings were joined together with the construction of an addition in 2003. Originally operating as Joh Rubber and Bauerhin the two companies were merged in 1993 to become Gecamex. Gecamex was subsequently acquired by Versatech in 1997.
