To reach this fort, one has to take left from Wadivarhe Phata when coming from Mumbai on Mumbai-Nashik Highway. Drive for about 2 kms and then take a right turn towards Gadgad Sangavi village whichi is a base village for Gadgada or Ghargad Fort.
The steps below main entrance door were blown up by British govt making access to the fort difficult. One can climb from back side of the fort.
Reaching the top needs climbing experience & getting down from the entrance involves 50 ft rappelling. A rope of 120 Feet is required.
There are 2 groups of water cisterns, 4 cisterns each and 2-3 more on the fort but none of them has a potable water.
No shelter is available on top. Also there is not a single tree which can provide shed.
View from top is amazing. Forts like Kavnai, Bahula, Anjaneri, Ranjangiri, Trimbakgad and pinnacles like Dangya and Pahine Navra-Navri can be seen.
