El-Sokhna is Jordanian town of Jordan and is one of the first villages that received Jordanian Chechens in Jordan, who settled in other villages, and after their migration from the North Caucasus.
An agricultural town dependent on agriculture and livestock.
The town of El Sokhna villages was inhabited since very long (from the Bronze Age), Romanian and Byzantine in accordance to a mission relics from the University of Jordan, discovered the wall of the old village and a number of housing.

He added that in the first season of excavations parts of the building represents a defensive tower and parts of the city wall dated to the Bronze Ages has been detected in different parts of the hill of the archaeological area of 7.5 acres for. As well as residential buildings belonging to the Romanian and Byzantine eras, which were used in the Islamic periods as well as many of the different archaeological sites.
He expressed the hope that the ongoing archaeological excavations in the coming years to reveal more of the of civilization residuals that shed light on the cultural history and civilization of the site.
The first migrated to the Sukhna from outside Jordan are the Chechens, Circassians, where they shared land and culture with the natives and they formed the best union representing the image of immigrants and supporters in Medina, forming a brotherhood of Chechnya and the people of Sokhna (from Beni Hassan). In 1948 when Zionists occupied Palestine and expelled its people forcing a number of Palestinians immigration to initiating the camp known as Sokhna camp that is existent until now.
The Sukhna is known to be from the first villages where education started in Jordan, Sukhna school was established as early as 1948 and remained until now.
There are now in the Sukhna:
1. Seven huge schools, including 3 schools for males and 4 females
2. Health center and
3. The municipality
The High School (Benin) and the high school (Girls) in Sokhna are known as of the first schools in the Kingdom.
