Locally, these two road names are used interchangeably, when they "overlap". Typically called "State Road 7" or just "441". Florida State Road 7 (SR 7) stretches from the Tamiami Trail in Miami (at U.S. Route 41/Calle Ocho) to Okeechobee Boulevard (State Road 704) in West Palm Beach. Before Interstate 95 and other limited-access roads were built, it was one of the only routes to get from West Palm Beach to Miami. State Road 7 is part of U.S. Route 441 until it stops at Southern Boulevard, and heads west. SR 7 then continues for a few miles to the north, stopping at SR 704. It is still a principal business route today, as it is nearly perfectly straight, and it has numerous shopping and commerce centers, as well as office buildings along its route.
