Neoclassicism style building was projected in 1910, built during 1910-1913 and 1928-1929. It was the first projected building in Lithuania to exponate art valuables publicly. During 1914-1930 artwork expositions, repository, archive, library were fitted. The official opening day of Science friend association museum of arts and other culture valuables exposition was March 2, 1930. Lectures, meetings, presentations were held monthly. The musem operated until Second World War. When this building came to Art museum of Lithuania, in 1985-1987 here were held exposition of modern lithuanian art, personal art exhibitions. During 1988-1989 eight building halls were used to show modern art exhibition and to organize culture events.
