SHRI SANT NILOBARAYA TEMPLE,PIMPALNER

Sant Niloba was born in Ahmednagar district in a village named ‘Pimpalner. His father’s name was Mukund. He was brought up as a well-groomed and a religious person. His entire family was a traditional worshipper of Lord Shiva. He was a selfless and a sacrifycing man by nature. His wife was Nainawati and his two sons were Bhiwaji and Kashinath. His daughter’s name was Chandrabhaga. In spite of being a family man he was more attracted towards worshipping Lord Vitthal and dedicated more time to it
He came under the great influence of religious preacher Santoba Pawar and learned a lot about life and work of Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram and Namdev. His perception of the society underwent a sea change with these preachings. He continued with his own worship and recitation of Ramkrishna Hari Mantra at Dehu. It is believed that Lord Krishna blessed him and saint Tukaram inspired him in his dreams. Resultantly, his book of Abhangas, which he worked on with dedication, was first published in the year 1881. This vividly written book portrays the life of Lord Krishna, his romances with milk women, his diplomatic skills and other facets, in an engrossing manner. The book also guides the reader on establishing the dialogue with the almighty. He also wrote a biography of Changdev Maharaj. This great worshipper and poet passed away at ‘Pimpalner,Parner’ in the year 1753.
