An historic four star luxury hotel located in the Spring Garded District in downtown Haliifax, NS. Named after famed Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, construction of the hotel was supervised by architect O.C. Gross and built by H.L. Stevens & Co. of New York O.C. for Canadian Pacific Railway. Local materials and artisans were employed in its construction; bluenose brick for example, a local material, was used for the walls. It opened October 23, 1928.

The original section of the hotel had seven stories with 200 rooms, adding 8th and 9th floors in 1966 and the North Tower section in 1975. Today the hotel as has 260 rooms.

  • I was stopped at a red light in front of there once and the host came up to me and said I wasn't allowed to park there, he was lucky the light turned green, I would have smashed him in the face for being an asshole to me.
