Chawkbazar Shahi Masjid (Dhaka)

3-dome elevated platform Chawkbazar Masjid was built by Mughal Subehdar Shaista Khan in 1676 AD. He also built income generating shops and a well on the east side of Masjid for its repair and maintenance. On important days and Eid occasions the Naib-e-Nazims of Dhaka attended the prayer congregation in this Masjid. The Masjid has been expanded afterward keeping the original area undisturbed.
