A classic example of flawed sculpture, this bronze statue of the firebrand freedom fighter who fought against the British rule with Axis help during World War II riding a stallion, erected on January 23, 1969, has the horse's tail straight up-- like a torpedo, pointing roughly south-west, defying all laws of gravitation. Nobody knows what purpose that serves, except for the fact that Bose's ancestral home in South Kolkata may roughly be in that direction. Some horse sense that.
