gateway, demolished, city gate, historical layer / disappeared object, 19th century construction
In place of the old access roads into the city a new gate was built in 1838, a gate similar to Şchei gate and Brandenburg gate in Berlin (master builder Andreas Dieners) having two passages for vehicles and pedestrians. It only lasted half a century. In 1891, when steam trams were introduced in Brasov, steam locomotives did not fit under the gate, so he had the same fate as its predecessor.
