The fountain's plaque reads:
"This propellor served the deep sea tug "Samarinda" in the trans-Pacific trade. Cast from five thousand pounds of solid bronze, the deep pitch of her blades shows the thrust required in heavy ocean towing. Many thousand miles of ocean have passed these blades in the service of our maritime trade."
Presented by the Rotary Club of West Vancouver May 1986.
