M.L. Kendrick constructed the first mill building in the 1870s. His son passed the operation to Webb Hutchinson. W.S.Jenkin Co. purchased the mill in the late 1910s and sold it to Ernest T. Harding in 1930. William E. Fletcher renamed the mill Ashburn Milling Company after he bought it in 1944.
