WCET is the PBS station serving Cincinnati, Ohio. It broadcasts in analog on channel 48 and digitally on channel 34. It's digital broadcast channel is multiplexed, broadcasting one high-definition channel, CET HD, and one standard definition channel, CET World. WCET also offers CET Create, which is only available through Time Warner Cable. WCET is currently operated by the Greater Cincinnati Television Educational Foundation.
History
The first licensed public television station in the United States, WCET began broadcasting on July 26, 1954, from Music Hall in Cincinnati. In 1976, the station moved to its present location at the Crosley Telecommunications Center on Central Parkway, which it now shares with the market's two main public radio stations, WVXU and WGUC-FM. In September 2003, the station rebranded itself as CET; it was previously known as Channel 48 and WCET48. The station also provides an IP-based on-demand video service via CETconnect.org
