421-foot, 34-story modernist office building completed in 1970. Designed by Kahn & Jacobs, the narrow tower's front facade is clad in dark-grey stone end piers, with alternating bands of dark-tinted windows and white stone spandrels. The tall ground floor has the glassy entrance at the north, under a suspended glass-and-metal canopy, and a plate-glass storefront at the south. Above, each band of windows has nine panes. There is a setback above the 6th floor. above which the upper floors run vertically to the tall white stone band at the top. The other three facades are clad in dark-grey stone, with four bays of wide windows on the south side, one bay of windows on the west end of the north side, and one bay of wide windows at the south half of the narrow east facade. The ground floor is occupied by Orvis clothing store.
