Beaufort County Courts System comprises in the following principal elements :

The Clerk of Court - The Clerk of Court manages information about civil cases, the fee schedule, judgments and the court schedule in Beaufort County.

· Master in Equity – Foreclosure and property bidding information is located in this area.

· Family Court – This Court handles matters such as divorce, child support, alimony, domestic abuse cases, child custody and juvenile cases.

· The Probate Court - This court is responsible for matters related to decedents' estates, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, conservatorships and guardianships for incapacitated adults, conservatorships for minors, involuntary commitment of individuals who are mentally ill or chemically dependent, issuance of marriage licenses, etc.
