This park features a statue of Simon Bolivar and it also hosts a handicrafts fair called "San Alejo" every first Saturday of the month (every Saturday in December). The land was donated in 1844 by English Tyrrel Stuart Moore. The place was going to be called New London, but the community named it Villanueva, that name was conserved until 1871 when it was renamed Park of Bolivar.

In 1882 the work was finished and in 1875 works began for the construction of the Metropolitan Cathedral. In 1900 the Park was awarded with a bronze fountain donated later by the municipality to the Hospital San Vicente de Paul.

In 1923 it was replaced with the statue of Simon Bolivar. This place always has been characterized by the accomplishment of the dominical retreats, musical activity and the Market of San Alejo.

Located between the streets 54 (Caracas) and 55 (Peru) and carrera 28 (Ecuador) and 49 (Venezuela). The names of the streets make honor to the Liberator, his native city and three of the countries that were liberated.
