ruins, Roman Empire
In order to enlarge the Domus Augustana, Septimius Severus erected this extension on the south-east side of the stadium of Domitianus. The arcades and thermae remains are present. Septimius essentially completed the building of the Palatine complex. Subsequent emperors including Diocletian and Constantine built their palace elsewhere.
