Meham is an ancient village. It has connection with 'the Mahabharat Era'. Initially it was known as Mehamadabad and later become famous as Meham. Present city is developed on remains of thrice destroyed ancient 'Mehamadabad'. Meham is located on a small mountain like (high) place. It's famous that this city have been destroyed thrice by foreigner attack. You can find the clue of it's ancient history by digging around 10 feet at any place in the village.
As of 2011 India census, Meham urban area had a population of 20,483.

Our family known as SANTAKON KE in MEHAM. MEHAM is also famous for the MEHAM CHOUBISI CHABOOTARA, a platform reserved for members of the Meham panchayat (a conglomeration of 24 villages, better known as the Meham Chaubisi). Meham Chaubisi is the most powerful khap panchayat body in Haryana, with influence over 3.5 lakh people.

    It is a great pleasure to learn that the Temple, which belongs to the family of Sant Ke is being rejuvenated with a small amount of contribution from the family (the family of Sant Ke). The construction work is going on and the people from all communities have offered all possible help. The construction of the temple would require a hefty amount of funds to put the ruins of this 200 years old temple back in to shape, to some extent. The total area of the temple is about 2000 sq. yards or may be more. Anybody willing to contribute may contact one of the persons available at site where the construction work is going on and get a receipt of the amount he wish to donate.     I love Maham. My father Pt Kishan Gopal Haritash and his brothers lved in Chintala Mohalla. Now our entire family live in Delhi. Two of my brother Shri Banwari Lal and Shri Mukut Bihari Lal s/o Pt Nawal Kishore served in Army. Mukut Bihari Lal was shot dead in Eastern Boarder during was in 1971 ( Bangladesh War).

    Things are improving but very slowly, last week Haryana Government has approved Cargo Airport in Meham and not it's under consideration of aviation ministry of India. If it approves, Meham's fortune will turn overnight.... best of luck...

    Meham is a very historical place starting from Mahabharata upto now becoming a cybercity. Starting from traditional culture now children of this city believe in love marriage. A change in this city from a patwari office to judicial court SDM office even upto Office of Fisheries officer. A chock mohalla shops to entire market upto the SDM Office is the entire bazzar. An old traditional jalebi pakora shop to chinese food. chobisee restaurant in place of dhjaramshal. WAT a nice chnge. JAIGOPAL VERMA
