K Island / Fericirii (Romania)

The newest island in Black Sea. The island formed by the alluviums of Chilia. The hills will close Musura Bay in a few decades, turning it into fluvial limana.

If initially, in the framework of the state border demarcation activity together with the Ukrainian authorities, taking topogeoidal measurements on this occasion, the island was divided into two areas (2 km in Romania and 5 km in Ukraine), afterwards The settlement of the conflict between the two states regarding the contiguous area (solved by international courts), the island is totally reminiscent of Romania, even if at present the signs of the state frontier have not been removed.
