  • It seems that there has been some confusion. Perhaps this explanation will provide better understanding. The bigscreen TVs were given to the church for free and there is a ministry that picks up bus loads of homeless people and brings them to the church for Sunday service, gives them a warm meal, and sometimes they even meet people who are able to give them job opportunities. There are many ways in which one could look at this church and label it as "having too much money for its own good." However, the church has money so they can do good. Until one steps inside of this church and finds out the true motives and actions behind it, one may label it inaccurately. So I invite you to find out for yourself and stop by, the church is open for anyone to come and the people inside are always excited to meet visitors! Welcome all!
  • I was married in that church, and when my hubby got abusive and withheld food and nessesities, they did not help, they did not come and councel my husband or help my son and I find leagl help or food or a safe place or take us to the hospital, my son and I became homeless and sickly and hungry. My in laws are huge participents at the church, and they pretty much encouraged thier sons behavior while pretending to love Jesus. I'm not this families only victum. and I'm sure I'm not this churches only victum either, don't count any of thier help or resourses unless your a worldly christian, got lots of money or are political to thier plans. As far as picking up homeless?? hmm I'm not sure, I've never seen it becuase I was homeless from abuse out of my own house that I bought and paid for. these people who continue to teach thier son to NOT cleave to his wife are still big pillars of the church. They run off everyone of his wifes, and until this church shows me differently, I want nothing to do with it, whats a church that won't councel a family in serious trouble? wheres the faith in God if they are afraid of my husband? don't you think me and my son where afraid? thats not Gods love.
  • Who did you contact? When did this happen? Have you voiced these comments to the senior pastor or others on the staff? It's easy to make the anonymous comments and slam the church as a whole, but where's the proof? I personally know the senior pastor and am confident that help would have been provided if you had contacted the right people EVEN IF his parents are "big pillars of the church". Your own persistance would have helped. Finally, there are always two sides to every problem...!!
  • Geoff fair enough, I contacted the front office. I was told that they couldn't recommend any attorney, that they didn't have any advisers, they suggested that I get in contact with the mens ministry to come out & visit my husband & I, so I did, I was told that they usually wont get involved with situations like that but "try" to come by, no one ever showed up. I figured they where to afraid of my husband and I was by this time skin and bones under 100lbs, scared stiff, and pretty much bedridden, I was hungry, no toilet paper, no hygene, stuff, no love no support no care, no money and my son was starting to get sick to & couldn't go to school, no the school didn't care either, son was to old over 13, to old to go the womans shelter and he didn't want to be separated from his mom. I was also told to contact the womans ministry, they invited me to come and volunteer with the womens prison ministry (I was weak and bedridden most of the time???), they told me that the volunteers got to go through the stuff people donated to go towards the women getting out of prison & starting over with their kids first, ie. wealthy, bored housewives volunteering gets to take the best donated stuff home for FREE. when I expressed my discuss with that practice, I was told 'They work so hard for free.. they ought to get something" (ok, hello?? volunteer means for nothing???), but the church did get some of my furniture because my son and I didn't have a home to take it to. So members of the church did finally show up, to get my furniture, but not to help, and I still wonder, did it go to a spoiled volunteer? or did it really go to the prison ministry. geoff, if you want more, I'll tell you more, you ask a woman who became destitute for proof? I'll take a lie detection test, you blame a victim for not having enough persistance or I would have been helped??? I was scared, weak and sick, I called I told my situation, a few times. But really, why mess with a group that doesn't want to be involved with someone that was in need? Once I was in need.. I was a "looser" a "basket case" not someone that a church of that reputation wants to be associated with, besides, I didn't have anymore time to deal with all of that weirdness, I think asking for help three or four times was persistent enough I was fading fast and my son needed me. I needed real help, not 'oh God bless you" "we'll pray for you". Sorry your upset that I don't like your church, geoff, I'm not slamming the church as a whole, I'm telling a truthful situation that I dealt with at that church, I'm sure there are some good people there, the place is huge, but the church is only as good as it's greediest person, so I believe that you Geoff, have little Idea of all that goes on, and the senior pastor you have now, is a different one, but the congregation is the same one. All good things and blessing, the credit goes to Jesus, that my son and I are healing, my savior, my love. definitely not to Grove City, nor the GC attorney that took my last bit of money and did nothing absolutely nothing and would not give me any of it back, nor even got me a restraining order. Nor to that church.
