  • My 10x great grandparents(Simiana) were married here july 12th 1603,name I had was Madonna di Porto Salvo which I was told by the Malta registry is this church.
  • Yes, that is the same church. "Santa Maria (or Madonna) del Porto Salvo" is Italian for "Our Lady of Safe Havens". The Basilica is run by monks of the Dominican Order and they control the parish dedicated to the same patron saint. It is commonly referred to by the Maltese is "Il-Knisja ta' San Duminku" (St. Dominic's Church).
