The old name - Krasnoarmeiska Street, is located in the historical area the New Construction in Shevchenkovskiy, Pechersky and Goloseevskiy districts in Kiev. It begins at the Bessarabian Square and runs up to the Lybedska Square and the Dryjbu Narodiv Boulevard. The length is 3.8km. The construction of buildings began in 1850s.
The Velyka Vasylkivska Street was the main street at that period. You can still admire the buildings of that period. On the Velyka Vasylkivska Street is situated NSK Olimpiyskiy, the commercial center Olimpiyskiy, the national palace of arts "Ukraine", the cinema "Kiev", many shops, bars, pubs and restaurants.
