National Highway 22 Route:
Ambala - Derabasi - Zirakpur - Panchkula - (Pinjore-Kalka-Parwanoo is bypassed now with Himalayan Expresway) - Dharampur - Kumarnath - Solan - Kiarighat - Shimla - Kufri -Thoeg - Narkanda - Sainj - Nirath - Rampur - Jeori - Niehar - Karchham - Powari - Rispa - Jangi - Spello - Puh - Khab- Shipki La Pass (Termination point )
Out of the total length of 459 kilometres, 30 km is in Haryana, 31 km is in Punjab and 398 km is in Himachal Pradesh. This road is also known as the Hindustan Tibet Road. Narkanda-Shimla section of the road is badly damaged and takes 2h 45m to 3 hours to vover this 64 km of National Highway.

  • One amusing observation on title of this highway which I am editing and double laning on map. While it is undisputedly known as Amabala - Chandigarh highway, on a section of highway, the highway doesn't actually pass through or even touch closely any part of Chandigarh.
