The street was named in honor of Borys Chychybabin (born Polushin, 1923-1994) - Kharkiv poet and dissident, prisoner of the stalinist regime, a member of the Writers' Union from 1966 to 1973 (was expelled), after fifteen years of silence about his name - the winner of the USSR State Prize (1990) for the book "The Bell" (Russian - "Колокол"), which he published at his own expense.
