Interstate 264 (Virginia)
Interstate 264 (I-264) is an east-west auxiliary interstate route between Chesapeake and Virginia Beach via Portsmouth and Norfolk. It crosses the South Branch Elizabeth River via a tunnel (the Downtown Tunnel) and the East Branch of the Elizabeth River via a drawbridge (the Berkley Bridge). East of I-64 in Norfolk it is known as the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway and is the primary route to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. There is now a toll to pass through the Downtown Tunnel. Open Road Tolling has been implemented to help fund repairs and improvements.
