Interstate 85 (Virginia)
Interstate 85 (I-85) is a north-south mainline interstate highway in the Southeastern United States. Its current southern terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 65 in Montgomery, Alabama; its northern terminus interchanges with Interstate 95 in Petersburg, Virginia, near Richmond. I-85 crosses from North Carolina near Bracey, Virginia. It parallels U.S. Highway 1 for its length in Virginia and passes by South Hill and Dinwiddie en route to Petersburg. It serves to connect Richmond, Virginia and the northeastern U.S. via I-95 to major metropolitan areas of North Carolina and Georgia. Interstate 85 in Virginia is a relatively unremarkable road and has not been significantly modified since its original construction.
