K-9 begins at K-123 south of Dresden. It heads east meeting US Highway 283 west of Edmond, then it crosses US 183 near Glade. It soon joins US 281 then US 24 until Beloit. It continues east crossing US 81 at Concordia and joins K-15 later. It splits from K-15 then joins US 77 for a short while until it splits east of Blue Rapids. It crosses US 75 then joins US 159 until it splits at Monrovia. It goes off on its own for just a few miles until it ends at US 73 south of Lancaster. It is 317.94 miles long.
K-148 begins at K-28 east of Jewell. It heads east crossing US Highway 81 then meets K-9. They run together for about 10 miles before K-148 turns north. It continues straight north until the Nebraska state line. The road turns into Nebraska State Highway 112. K-148 is 76.0 miles long.
