This is the ORIGINAL routing of Highway 69, dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. Eventually, it was re-routed onto what would evolve into Highway 169 (now Simcoe County Road \169/). When Highway 69 was re-routed again, the old routing became Highway 169, and Rama Road became a county road. Eventually, Highway 69 was extended south back to Highway 12 at Waubaushene, absorbing the entire routing of Highway 103, in 1976. In 1989, the Ministry of Transportation began extending Highway 400 northwards towards Parry Sound and Sudbury in stages, absorbing portions of Highway 69 in the process. The southernmost portion of today's Highway 69 is a good 80 km (50 miles) from its original location along Rama Road!
