Green Flag Award winning Park
Harrison Park is a small urban park in the south west of the city. It is well cared for and valued by local people. The formal park, sits alongside the Union Canal, which provides a valuable wildlife corridor in the area.
The Friends of Harrison Park work in partnership with the Council to oversee the management, maintenance and development of this green space. Recent projects, including upgrading of paths, interpretive signage, naturalised bulb planting, have all contributed to making Harrison Park a delightful, accessible and well used community green space.

The Green Flag judges said ''Harrison Park is definitely worthy of the Green Flag Award in recognition of the overall benefits it provides the people living in the locality. The site is well used and appreciated as an invaluable “Green Lung” for the area. Recent improvements have been made and the judges believe that the Council working in partnership with other organisations and local people will continue to increase use and enjoyment of all the fortunate residents who have access to this park''.
