This site currently houses a number of HP employees. However, Apple Inc. is planning a large scale expansion outside of its Infinite Loop campus. The Apple Campus 2, or "The Spaceship", is shaped in a ring. The new campus will feature a 4-story ring shaped building (approx. 2.8 million sq. feet) can house up to 13,000 employees. Other features include underground parking, renewable and clean energy generators, a 1,000-seat auditorium, testing facilities, a 3,000-seat cafe, and a 2-story fitness center. Steve Jobs pointed out that 80% of the entire campus will be landscape (20% buildings/structures). Apple plans to rebuild many of the original orchards that were in Cupertino before the housing boom of the 1950/1960's.
