This "L" shaped field was Truckee's first airport. Constructed prior to 1933 it had 2 runways which were 2858' & 2575' in length. The field was illuminated. It was abandoned sometime between 1954-1957.
It was depicted in George R. Stewart's book "U.S.40", but is now covered with sagebrush.
