Saint-Matthews Protestant Church

This Franciscan church was built in the late 12th century. It underwent a substantial restoration a few years ago to bring it back to its former glory. Along with the Dominican church, it is one of the major examples of churches of the mendicant orders in Alsace. St. Matthew's became a Protestant church after the Reformation was introduced in Colmar in 1575. Its superb acoustics allow it to be often used as a concert hall, notably for the Colmar International Music Festival.
