Mountain Dell Dam

The Mountain Dell Dam provides a water storage reservoir for Salt Lake City, Utah. The dam is made of reinforced concrete and was built in two stages between 1914 and 1925. With a series of half-cylinders on the reservoir side and buttresses on the dry side, the dam was designed to withstand poor foundation conditions while utilizing as little construction material as possible.
