Renoster Pan Lookout and waterhole about 2kms off the H3 main road near Afsaal Picnic Site. The H3 is the main road between Skukuza and the Malelane Gate in the southern region of the Kruger Park.

In Afrikaans "Renoster" means Rhinoceros and "Pan" refers to a waterhole. Thus, directly translated it would be Rhino waterhole. Somehow it seems like the Rhinos knows that this place is named after them, because I have hardly ever failed to see a White Rhino or two in the near vicinity whenever I visited this spot.

A fine location to spend some relaxing moments at the waterhole and wait for nature to come to you. Normally it doesn't take too long before an animal will approach or a bird touch down to come and quench the thirst or perhaps even search for some morsel of food.

Once, during a sitting of ±1 hour at this spot, I saw an Elephant, 4 Zebra, 7 Impala, 2 Banded Mongoose, a Saddle-billed Stork, 4 Egyptian Geese, 2 Blacksmith Lapwings, 1 Yellow-billed Kite and a Chameleon.
