Formerly Quinnipiac College.
In the past this university focused mostly on Health Sciences and is now making a move to disversify the majors offered. The college of communications and college of liberal arts have grown significantly from 1999 to present day.

The school join NCAA Division 1 sports when the name was changed from Quinnipiac College to Quinnipiac University. Before being home to Quinnipiac College, the property was home to the Larson College for Women. One of the residence halls is named "Larson" hall in rememberence of the schools roots.

Currently the school is working on building a new "rocky top campus" which will house a ice rink and basketball arena.
