Lake City AFS was operated by the US Air Force from 1952 to 1961. The host unit was the 663rd Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron.
The towers are now gone but the round concrete foundations are clearly visible. The buildings remain. The housing area is down below the mountain, and a tram was used for movement of supplies up and down Cross Mountain.
