Part of the wall built by the Romans. Also visible underground on the Westbound platform at Tower Hill station, walk almost to the left (east) end of the platform and look for the hole in the opposite wall, with small plaque.
The wall is standing to a surprising height. The Roman parts have stripes of red brick, the upper parts are medieval. There is a substantial remnant of one of the medieval gates just to the south.
