  • Mansergh Barracks was RAF Sundern after WW2 and was the home of Code and Cypher long before the Artillery arrived.
  • First posting after joining up in 68 (LOVED IT) . GUTERSLOH was "BRILLIANT"
  • Yes Mansergh Barracks was RAF Sundern. I was an airman posted there in 1957. I was a Ground Wireless Mechanic working on the Radio Relay System known as 13 Signals Unit. Had a great time there and enjoyed it immensely.
  • I was posted to RAF Sundern 13SU in October 1956 until March 1958 . SAC Mike Simpson
  • I was a wireless operator posted to 2 Group Ops. room, RAF Sundern in Oct.1952. Didn't spend much time there as I was detached to radar sites at RAF Luneberg, HMS Royal Albert at Cuxhaven, and the army camp at Sennerlager. Spent our time monitoring aircraft flights on either side of the British/Russian zones borders. Finally posted to RAF Sylt for last twelve months of service. 3512389 SAC Brian Goodhead
