Formerly the National Statistics Office (NSO)

A government agency responsible for the census of all the Filipino resident in the Philippines
Issuance of the following certificate:
a. Birth certificate
b. Marriage certificate
c. Death certificate
d. Baptismal certificate- a requirement for the issuance of all the three certificate above. But, this alone can be taken from the church where the person has been baptised

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), formerly the National Statistics Office (NSO; Filipino: Pambansang Tanggapan ng Estadistika) is the statistical agency of the Philippines responsible in collecting, compiling, classifying, producing, publishing, and disseminating general-purpose statistics as provided for in Commonwealth Act No. 591.

PSA also has the responsibility of carrying out and administering the provision of the Civil Registry Law as provided for in Act No. 3753 dated February 1931.
