An Institute for Economic Studies and Research founded by the Late Dr VKRV Rao (Union Minister in the Indira Gandhi Cabinet). ISEC (abbreviation) was modeled on the basis of Delhi University. It was founded in 1972 ( the corner stone was laid by the late Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi). In fact, this corner stone greets visitors on entering ISEC. To a large extent, ISEC is responsible for the development in the Nagarbhavi Area. Today,Nagarbhavi boasts of institutions such as NLSIU (National Law School of India University), The Atomic Minerals Division. Several eminent scholars and academicians have been associated with ISEC (most notably Dr Manmohan Singh - the current Prime Minister of India).
