One of Washington's oldest and largest movie theatres. Opened in 1936, designed by John Jacob Zink for Warner Bros. The classic Art Deco Uptown features one massive screen and a balcony. Traditionally, this theatre carried the newest blockbusters. For some releases (such as films in the Star Wars franchise) it was not uncommon to see moviegoers line up hours before the picture to get tickets and a good seat. It closed in 2020.
