Norwood, Westwood, and Walpole, MA USA - Also known as New Pond, Willett Pond is not a natural feature of the landscape but a man-made body of water. It was created in 1912 as a water supply for Willett's Winslow Brothers and Smith tannery. It used to freeze over in the winter. My brother used to skate the length of the pond in winter to go to church at St. Timothy's during the 1960's.
