  • It has always been known as "Angels Camp" as far as I know. This is the place where Mark Twain's frog jumping contest of Calaveras county originally took place.
  • Angel's Camp holds a contest each year during the Jumping Frog Jubilee as to who can decorate the prettiest clothesline,as can be seen in one of the pictures of downtown Angel's Camp.
