The Moses Lake factory began processing potatoes in 1965 and has remained in operation under various ownership including Pronto Pacific, Carnation, Nestle, and the J. R. Simplot Company. The facility was acquired by the J. R. Simplot Company on October 2, 2000 and presently supplies numerous frozen potato products for a range of customers in the U.S. and abroad. Numerous improvement projects have taken place over the years to help the facility remain a low-cost producer.

The Moses Lake Processing Plant was first awarded the ENERGY STAR in 2010
