military, squadron (military), barracks
This small portion of Napier Barracks was once the home of 260 Signal Squadron (SAM) from 1970 until 1977 when the Squadron was disbanded. This location holds many happy memories for the hundreds of soldiers and their families who once served here.
It is sad to see the barracks in such decline where once it had housed the biggest artillery regiment in the British Army. 36 Heavy Air Defence Regiment Royal Artillery.
