The city has a rich cultural history with a legend that Lord Hanuman landed on this town before jumping on the Sanjeevani Hills to get the Sanjeevani herb for Lord Rama’s brother Laxmana. It is a cantonment town and so entry is restricted without permission and foreign tourists must have a valid passport before entering this area.
